6pm returned to apartment, watched 2 and a Half Men and Cash Cab.
7pm Beerfest.

8pm Glee - Britney Spears episode.
9pm continued Beerfest.
10pm Tosh.0.
11pm Daily Show. Dominykas and Nelda from Lithuania arrived. They have been working for the summer at a San Diego hotel passing out pool towels. Now on a road trip around the west in a rental car.
11:30pm sleep.
6:30am Awoke, thanks to a really loud garbage truck.
7:15am Jogged - around VA hospital. Oatmeal for breakfast. Everyone still asleep.
8:35am Off to work.
9am Recorded my hours.
10am Graphed my bank account balance
12pm Studying a little bit for the Foreign Service Exam.

Weather: Cooling off slightly. It's slightly humid, but comfortably so.
Music: Maroon 5 - Misery
"You don't win friends with salad"
Internet outage. I'm still figuring out bank stuff. My account is getting lower and lower.
Not much work. Surfing the web. Meh.

HOT. HEAT. My apartment is a furnace!
This weather is crazy.
It's now cloudy and more humid. Luckily, noticeably less hot (95°).
Music: Hairspray - You Can't Stop the Beat; Eagles - Hotel California; We the Kings - Stay Young; Gavin DeGraw - In Love with a Girl
Lunch: Rotisserie works - Hawaiian BBQ and Jalapeno chicken - $10.50. (I'm gonna make it last 2 days)
Work is kinda busy - printing and folding exhibits.
Introduced Mike to Google Translate - to translate a Swedish document.
Irony or psychic moment? This was right after I brosed Christian Z's (my swedish friend's) pics on FB.
AND when I arrive back at the apartment, as I get out of the car, I run into Hanna and Madeleine walking down the street to get the bus! Whoa. It gave me an un-removable grin as I entered my apt.

The forecast high for Los Angeles today is 107°F. When I left this morning around 8:30, it was already 75° in West LA.

Back from Vegas. Now what?
This is what: I'm suddenly INUNDATED with work. Everything.
Music: Every Avenue - Where Were You; Christina Aguilera - Dirrty
The owner of the Segway company died riding his segway off a cliff. WTF? Irony!

It's 11am and now 110°. W. T. F.!!?!?!

1pm. It's official - it's the hottest day of ALL TIME in LA. 113°F downtown.

The internet is down. ~2:30pm.
I want to just relax on the beach.
Meh. Work.
I am disqualified from yet another UK job. :(
- Searching for "American"-related jobs in London, maybe I'll have an advantage for those.

VEGAS WEEKEND

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

GUTEN ABEND. TANZ?!
Manschaft. Aka Team Manshaft.
I won $61.50. Gotta bet big to win big, I learned.

Friday night: Ross was at my apartment around 5:30. As soon as I met him, I tossed him my keys and told him to fill up my car with gas as I packed up my stuff. We drove to Pasadena (took an hour) to pick up Mickey at Del Taco. He was at Target, but instead of waiting Ross and I went to Target too. But he was already back at the Del Taco. Argh! We instead just went to Ralph's and bought some beer for the ride. In Victorville, we took a 6 mile detour off the freeway to get to Popeye's chicken (Ross, from St. Louis, simply HAD to have some). Turns out we got jipped, they gave us only 4 biscuits instead of six, but a large cole slaw (which I munched on the rest of the drive). It was 12:30am when we arrived in Vegas; dropped off Mickey to get picked up by his girlfriend at South Point. 1am, check into Circus Circus. Not that great of a hotel, and not a great location. You really do get what you pay for - we were staying in the "Manor" which is totally separate from the main hotel. Horrible location. The Germans (who came earlier with their rental car) soon arrived (~2am) with Denny's. We just hung out and drank at the hotel room til 4am. Oh, we had 2 rooms, btw, right across from each other - 2903 and 2904 - at the very end of the very last building. :/

Saturday. Woke up around 10:30. Got ready. I jumped on the trunk of my car.

We had brunch at Bellagio (I couldn't find a rear entrance to the parking garage). Bellissimo. Our server was Nigerian and friendly, hooking us up with extra champagne. Then, we walked around - Phil and I bought our Eiffel Tower sippy cups at Paris.

Then to Planet Hollywood, Walgreens, the M&M store (for Jan to withdraw cash), MGM Grand (where we played roulette, and I won $30), New York New York (the roller coaster was too expensive - $14), through Monte Carlo and Aria, and back to Bellagio. A nice hot September day in Vegas. Drove back to Circus Circus and swum in the pool for a few minutes as it closed.

That night everyone else went for a beer run while I rested for a little. We then soon left on a quest for food, around 8pm. We ended up in the Adventuredome and rode the Canyon Blaster roller coaster! Fun fun! Food was to-go but we had to sit at the table to order. Odd. Ate back at the rooms, drank, then left. Ross wanted to go to a club or strip club, so we left him behind to figure out for himself. The Germans and I then proceeded to gamble (or attempt to) at the cheap casino just next to Circus Circus's main hotel. Then we walked down the strip, checked out the Wynn and the Venetian before "settling" at the Mirage. I babysat Phil who was vomit-ish at a slot machine. Then everyone else was ready to leave, and they told me they all won like $30 each. I immediately got jealous and spontaneously threw down $40 at the nearby roulette table, betting on red. I won. I then bet $10 on the next spin and lost. Eh, $30 profit - not bad for 2 minutes' work. Back to Circus Circus via Treasure Island.

Sunday: Woke up at 10:15, check out was at 11. Ugh. Ulrike asked to sleep in our room so I gave her my side of the bed. Ross came back and luckily found his phone (which he had lost earlier). I checked out, just beating the worst of the 11am check-out rush, and kept one of the room keys in case we wanted access to the pool. We had brunch at Mandalay Bay (my tradition). Instead of walking through the Luxor, we drove the the Mirage for Felix to see Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden. I lay on a bench outside, soaking in the hot desert sun, and the other Germans gambled. I also had time to stroll across to Harrah's. I played video poker and won $1.50. I know statistics well enough to take whatever winnings I can, so I cashed out right there.
Then, we were off to the Hoover Dam! There was a 20-minute delay because of some pointless security screening stop. It was hot. The water level was much lower than it was the last time I visited (June 2008). Eh, I don't care too much for this damn dam.

Drove back to LA, leaving the dam around 5:30. Ross and Phil were in the car with me; we stopped at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign to take a couple pictures (I had never done that before!), after being separated from the other car. Darkness fell across the desert as we sped into California. Dinner was at Chipotle in Barstow (a much healthier option than all the other nearby fast food joints). We played 20 questions, and I couldn't guess what the dropper thingy was. I arrived back in West LA around 10:40, making pretty good time on the last leg.

Exhausting.

I am stressed over Vegas. 3 people have pulled out. No ride. Fuck. Felix ended up booking a car rental. Hrmm.
Went to TJ's and BevMo to stock up. Watched lots of TV - 3 episodes of Chuck, new Big Bang Theory, The Office, Outsourced. Whew.
Looking for rideshares via Craigslist (of course).
Dream: I was snowboarding in Santa Monica with AF and PC. We took the lift up and ended up in a Japanese town/village (near the Santa Monica DMV). We walked back through the alpine town at night, just past a Ben & Jerry's.
Felix was awakened by a passing fire truck, made him dream he was in the US.

Planning my trip to DC/Philly!

I have a sore ass. From sitting and watching all that TV last night.
Lunch: Leftover chicken chaufa. Not so fresh.

IT'S HOT OUTSIDE TODAY! I love it.

But I miss London. :(

Thursday September 23, 2010

Friday, September 24, 2010

Watched Whip It last night. I found it incredibly similar in plot to Bend It Like Beckham.
Phil and I went for Bool BBQ.
It's Felix's first day of classes!
Lunch: Chicken chaufa. Nom nomming on and off.
Facebook is down!
I'm excited for Vegas! And for DC/Philly!!!
Music: Alanis Morrisette - Head over Feet; Vengaboys - Boom Boom Boom Boom; Modest Mouse - Float On; DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'
Trying to fix a problem with Palm Desktop.

Vegas Vegas Vegas. I can feel it!

Saskia was at the apt last night - ended up staying over. Fred (apt manager) called and demanded that I remove the traffic cones from my balcony. I felt ambushed and like I was in big trouble. This pissed me off. Also, I felt in trouble at work - I don't know if my days off for my east coast trip will be approved. I know things will work out, but right now they don't seem like they are.
We went for Thai food last night. Rushed back to catch the Glee season premiere.

Spent two hours searching and stressing over the best hotel for us in Vegas. Everything was expensive. I booked two rooms at Circus Circus. Stupid Priceline.
I ended up laying in bed for two hours unable to sleep. This stress has really been getting to me.

Traffic is officially bad every day morning and night. Even at 7pm. This sucks.

SO MANY SHAREHOLDERS TO RESPOND TO AT WORK. I'm really buried in it today.

Music: Eagles - Desperado; Rx Bandits - Anyone But You; Teddybears - Cobrastyle

Never say no to Panda!

Inconvenience. And anxiety. I'm feeling both today.

A guy in the mall bathroom though I worked there. Must be the red shirt I'm wearing.
My wrists are sore - great, now I'm getting carpal tunnel syndrome too.

It's done. I bought my flights to the east coast.

Ready to go home, and GUESS WHAT! I get a new project dumped on me at 4:45pm. Parsing through resumes (people have horrible grammar!).
So I'm at work til 6:30.

Chilled last night w/ Felix and Phile - watched the premiers of HIMYM, some DWTS (Hasselhoff!), Rules of Engagement.
Drove Steffen back to his apartment.
It's a chilly/cloudy day. Yet again.
Planning DC/Philly and Vegas trips! Hotels are expensive!

Lunch: Leftover Panda Express.
Suddenly I have no more couchsurfing requests.
Got new employee handbook. Hmmm.

After last night, today is going to be interesting. Getting through work.
I'm slightly freaked out, haha. Stupid.
It's a well-rested Monday! :)

I SET MY DATES FOR DC AND PHILLY! October 6-9, 9-11!

Music: Loggins & Messina - Danny's Song; Passion Pit

The Weekend, Moderate Debauchery

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Friday night: Laser tag in Sherman Oaks. Fun, though our performance in the maze was disappointing. Stupid kids, especially that fat Jonah Hill-esque one, running around without having fun, coldly gunning down our hopes and dreams.
Also, went for food and drinks. I didn't like the sushi place, so Felix, Phil and I ditched the lame others for drinks at Mad Bull's, which was nice. Then one last game of laser tag, slightly tipsy and more fun.

Saturday: Day in, stayed at my apartment. Woke up early, despite getting back late the night before. Took the recycling to the center - it only took less than a minute and we were done! Fastest recycling trip ever! Later, shopped at Ross for some socks. Then went with Phil to the Westside Pavillion. Strolled around and shopped but didn't get anything. Then stopped at BevMo to buy some booze for the party that night.
James B. stopped by to pick up his mail; he gave me advice on things to see in Philly; I invited him to Kevin's that evening. Later, I got a confusing text from him but just laughed it off.
Three girls from Göttingen (Ulrike, Britta, and Katrin) joined us for the "party" at Kevin's new place. It basically consisted of us (the Germans) walking in on Kevin and Crystal's family playing Puerto Rico and drinking the night away. Crystal's dad was cool - kinda like Mr. Johnson at Loyola. I spent a good amount of time trying to convince Crystal's sister to spend her year abroad in London, not Barcelona.

Sunday: Stayed in. Phil took my bike to the beach. I rested. Phil was invited to a BBQ by a German couchsurfing friend he met in Long Beach who is now in LA for a couple months (Saskia). So we drove to Burbank. Hung out in the car drinking beers for an hour or so, while waiting for John to get there. He arrived with two Russian girls staying in Santa Monica. And there's a Nigerian Danish guy staying with him too. I'm not making this up. So it was the seven of us essentially, with his three dogs. But, damn he barbecued up some delicious carne asada or whatever it was! We were gonna go out to a bar, but they were closed. John drove us to Universal, but I began to freak out that I wouldn't be back in time. So John dropped us back off at my car and I drove everyone home. It was such a long and harrowing drive! I was so disoriented (not a usual feeling for me), trying to get to the beachside part of Santa Monica near the Palisades and back to my apartment. Whew.

Monday, September 20, 2010

I was craving Korean tacos last night - I drove down Sawtelle, no parking and I didn't feel like walking so I drove to UCLA/Westwood. Still no parking, but I toughed it out and got my two tofu tacos and quesadilla. Yum nom.
Steffen arrived ~11:30pm - he was gone before I woke up. Yup, it's official: I've been hosting a vampire.
Today I feel annoyed - one of those days when the little things things just aren't going your way. Largely because traffic has been significantly worse lately than in recent memory.
Music: Anarbor - Halfway Sober
updated my Switzerland travel post.
Lunch: self-made sandwich from Mrs. Winston's - $5.01 (I guessed that it was $5.05 - so close to getting my lunch for free!)

Thursday 16 September 2010

Friday, September 17, 2010

I don't even know anymore. Should I look for jobs in New York? Stick with the FSOT? Grad school? UK? Just start my own business? Too much!
Sigh.
Priscilla and her coworker Mariah stopped by spontaneously after work yesterday. She's going to Chicago this weekend!

Went out with the Germans. Seriously, I'm a freakin' German consulate. Felix, Phil, Jan and Steffen joined me in an excursion to Molly Malone's. Michelle's phone died so she couldn't find us. (This was all because Josh's bday thingy in Hollywood was cancelled). Looking forward to laser tag though!

Music: Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man

Lunch: Veggie burrito. $6.

It's Mexican Independence Day!

... more updating of my travel blog (photos) ...

At work til 6:15.

Wednesday 15 Sept.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Watched Wanted last night. I felt it crossed Spider-Man and Batman Begins with Angelina providing some Mrs. Smith.
Ate a ghetto quesadilla (i.e. put what was left of the shredded cheddar onto a brown rice tortilla and microwaved it).
Phil got his SSN. Now to look for a job.

Music: Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
Working on my travel site (my weekend in Nice).
Uploading pics to my site takes a lot of time! Oh, this website's going to be a lot of work!
Lunch: eggs.
Not doing much today at work.
Lots of CS requests. I need to just refuse more people.
Weather: Sunny and warm-ish. 75°

Phil arrived. Felix returned to the apartment. Watched Monday Night Football and had mac and cheese for dinner. I'm feeling less sick (about 85% healthy).

Jack's gone this week. Lionel's out through Wednesday. Still lots of work.
Tequila Avión is real!
Sales call today with our Monster.com rep.
Lunch: Soup from Gelson's market. $5.
I am hesitant. About career and stuff (the usual).
Firefox is slow today. Or is it Acrobat? Either way, these pages and pdfs are taking a long time to load!

Nicholas C - from Texas via Switzerland de-friended me. Ouch.

Music: The Beatles - Hey Jude

A Weekend Sick 11-12-13 September

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Looks like the Bieber Fever really got to me.

Saturday: Jan left, Felix was there. I drove home (around 2pm).
I'm driving slower now on the freeway. I guess I'm used to slow traffic.
Had plenty of chicken soup at home. My mom's also still sick.
Watched Crazy Heart. I kinda like country music now.
My cousin Aaron was in town on business (!). We went out for Chinese food (though I had no appetite). Ugh - BEING SICK SUCKS.

Sunday: Felt slightly better but still sick and sore.
Drinking lots of water, ginger tea, more soup.
The computer has a virus too. Haha.
Watched The Special Relationship. Began reading The Omnivore's Dilemma.
East coast trip?!

Monday: Took a sick day from work! I'm feeling 50-60% better.
Fixed the computer. Almost gave up and told my mom to buy a new one. (Either way it's long overdue.)
Back to the apartment. Phil arrived.

Friday, 10 September 2010

Friday, September 10, 2010

I feel the beginning of a cold coming on - my throat was slightly sore this morning. Uh oh. :/

I should bundle up. It's cold.
Last night: Returned home ~ 6:30pm. Jan was tired (only drank a milkshake because he couldn't figure out that he could get a water or soda!). Dominik returned to get stuff, went out to buy pasta to cook, then Felix arrived a minute later (as I was starting to vacuum his room!). Awesome, I now have a flatmate. Dom returned, told us about his new host (who chose to message him) - a Hollywood manager of Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Courtney Love, etc., who bought the top floor of an apartment complex in Mar Vista/Venice and regularly has actors/models staying over. WWWWWWWTTTTTTTFFFFFFF?!?! Why the hell don't I know any famous people like that? Yes I'm jealous.
Felix and I left for Omri's birthday. Jan stayed at the apt. Library bar was nice. I met several Starbucks coworkers - Daniela (born in Slovakia), Megan (who went to Costa Rica), Jonathan (the vegetarian), Doug (shaved head, but he insisted his hair would look curly like mine), and a random older guy who spoke German (from his ex-wife) and lived in Pasadena. Then we went to The Standard (or should I type, pɹɐpuɐʇs ǝɥʇ!). No cover. Lame music. Stayed only for a bit. Omri was rightfully the center of attention. Felix was glad to be there.
Woke up tired. It's chilly! Cleaned up a bid (Dominik did most of the dishes last night). Work: 9:10am. Trying to be less stressed... trying. Frequent hand sanitizing.
I didn't get the job as a tour guide! That's good - I still have weekends free to go on weekend trips - DC/Philly, here I come! (or still maybe Chicago).
News: A big gas line exploded in San Bruno, burning down an entire neighborhood last night! Obama is campaigning against the Republican momentum ahead of this election.
Lunch: Leftover cajun bbq
The irony: The last time I was sick was when Felix was couchsurfing with me a year ago. Now he's back and I'm getting sick again.
Music: Alicia Keys - Empire State of Mind

It's my 3-year anniversary (London). Wow. And 6 years since Germany.

I arrived at the apt tired from work (again) and found Jan on my couch - just arrived from Germany for his year exchange program at UCLA. Also, he still has to find an apartment to live in.
- We went to Ramenya. I welcomed him; we talked politics (what he's studying). Then went to Trader Joe's.
I finished Bend It Like Beckham. Smiled.
L'shana tova! It's Rosh Hashanah. Not that I'm celebrating - most of the lawyers are out today, but I've still got plenty of work to do. Printing out hundreds of pages of emails and marking them with the date and putting them in a binder, responding to shareholders calling in for a new case, etc. I'm really busy.
Felix arrives tonight!
I discovered my "stepmom." Weird.
Rich Cronin (lead singer of LFO) died. :(
Lunch: Farmers market at 2pm - got a cajun bbq combo. Mom couldn't meet me for lunch; she's still sick.
My calf has a weird itchy/sore stinging sensation on the skin. Hmm.
...writing the date on email after email repeatedly - I feel like I'm signing a pile of autographs :)
Music: Pandora Radio... Cartel, The Rocket Summer
So much going on. Felix's arrival. Jan still at the apt. Omri's birthday celebration tonight. Weekend already filling up with plans. Aaaah.

Hosting Dominik - cooked fajitas last night. He went to the Getty Center and Griffith Observatory. An exhausting itinerary. He also (earlier) saw the janitor from Scrubs standing next to him at MOCA.
I dreamt that my friends and I all had guns and were shooting them off at a party, just for fun.
Jogged to Olympic/Purdue.
Found 50 Cent's twitter in proper English.
Google instant launched. Now don't have to hit "search."
Wow - really busy at work. Lots to do.

"To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, that is to have succeeded" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

It's cloudy and cool. Very atypical weather.
Lunch: Leftover fajitas (with beans)
Mom is out sick from her work the rest of this week.
It's Rosh Hashanah tomorrow.
I'm at work late. This sucks. Always on Wednesday.
Jan should be at the apartment already.

Tuesday, 7 September 2010

Wednesday, September 8, 2010

CS: Dominik (from next to Munich)
It's cloudy and cool. Hasn't been much of a summer. (Guess the weather's in line with my personal experience)
Felix arrives in 2 days! I might be hosting one of his exchange rate colleagues in the meantime.
I declare my apartment the German Consulate.
So many people on facebook now just posting random news articles and getting all political. I miss the innocent days of poke wars, etc.

"Don't count the days, make the days count"

Jason + Nathan = Jathan. It has happened again.

Lunch: A leftover burrito I found in my fridge this morning. (?! Maybe Chad's?)

At work a little late today - reconciling our Google ad bil.

Found a map of South LA gang territory.

Friday night: Watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It wasn't that bad actually.

Saturday: Mailed my rent and netflix.
Matthew came over to get the mattress.
Organizing/enhancing photos with iphoto (there's so many pics)
Interview! Went to Little Tokyo. It went well, and I was very natural. Not to get my hopes too high, but it would be freaking awesome to get this job.
Home. Didn't do much.

Sunday: Mom was sick, so I went on an errand run for her. Mainly groceries. And Porto's, haha.
Stayed home. No new episode of Entourage :(

Monday: Labor Day.
I drove my mom around, to meet with her friend for lunch.
There was an Anthony Bourdain marathon on TV.
New to my bucket list: Firing a gun.
Drove back to the apartment. Met Dominik, who dropped his stuff off then left to return his bike to Hollywood (and pick up the rest of his stuff from the hostel).
Started watching Bend It Like Beckham.

Friday, 3 September 2010

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

Had dinner with Leslie and her family (and Jenn) last night @ Versailles in Culver City!
- soon going to Washington DC. I'm obviously so jealous!

Music: Jack's Mannequin - Holiday from Real; American HiFi - Flavor of the Weak; Fall Out Boy - Sugar, We're Goin' Down; Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight (what's with all the old songs?!)

Updating the travel blog. Gradually. Have a lot of posts to fill in, but it's looking good so far!
Casey like my curly hair, lol.
I gotta pay rent for this month.
Casey and Jack saw that I had Blink-182 up on my computer screen and began to discuss.

Friday, September 3, 2010

Washed dishes furiously last night. Tried to dran-o the sink. No luck.
Kevin accidentally left his key with Crystal.
Stephanie and Chad arrived again (from Simi Valley). Chad was feeling sick (because of eating only greasy fast food, I presume). I stayed up talking with Stephanie til midnight, talking about travel, working, drive-ins, differences between CA and AR, historical buildings, adoption, starting my own tour guide company.
Kevin was up early this morning to meet the installer for his new apartment's dishwasher. Chad went out to buy Jamba Juice and donuts.

Drove to work - 9:10. Almost hit Casey in the parking garage, lol.
Leslie's in town! Having dinner with her family tonight!
Lunch: "Philly cheesesteak" (aka refried chicken kebab made into a sandwich) from the farmers market. Every other stand was closed at 2pm. $8.
My mom called in sick to work. She's sick from a vaccination.
It's a busy day at work. I'm pulling complaints, making binders and filling in charts for a complaint.
News: Hurricane Earl to brush North Carolina
Music: I have a song stuck in my head bu I don't know who sang it or any of the lyrics. It's got a prominent snappy bass line, a melancholy dark-sounding lead singer, and it goes "ooooooooh" - how frustrating!

Happy New Month. Hopefully my allergies aren't too bad this September.
Hung out with Jenn last night. BAD Sushi - actually the sushi was good, the service wasn't great though... the waitress seemed frazzled from the influx of customers since they mailed out a bunch of 50% off coupons. Friendly though. Deep fried ice cream.
I wasn't feeling well - I had come down with a case of the BIEBER FEVER! Then back at my apartment, MARIO KART 64! Thanks to Kevin for bringing his N64 here. But something was terribly wrong: Jenn and I kept losing! I don't ever remember sucking at Mario Kart, especially if I was trying. I was consistently getting 7th-8th place in many of the levels. I improved as we played some more, but still! Kevin was out with Crystal for her 21st birthday; they returned and Kevin was tipsy (happy) from one pina colada :) I drove Jenn back to her apartment.
Music: Incubus - Oil and Water; Will Smith - Gettin' Jiggy with It
News: US combat in Iraq has officially ended now. Hurricane Earl is bearing down on the east coast.
My coworkers = anti-spontaneity, use sarcasm but not irony, see only hard facts, no abiguity or subtlety in things.
Handling a lot of couchsurfing requests.
Lunch: Spinach souffle. Microwaved. It was yucky.
Updated my travel blog!
I should start thinking of Halloween costumes.

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Steph and Chad stayed last night. From Arkansas. They saw a taping of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. (Note to self: Go to a TV show taping!) They arrived early at my apartment (6pm), before I was even there (I was kept at work late). They got Taco Bell for dinner (boo).
I walked to Vons, mainly for beer. I also bought bananas, baking soda, and baking powder. We talked, mostly about the mundane differences between AR and CA. There are bugs there apparently, and more fast food here, and they have "meteorologists" where we just have the "weather guy". Haha.
Chad is a camera man, not even 20 years old, and he's not even considering going to college. That is so weird to me. He just wants to go to the beach and get away from his mom. That is not weird for me.
It's Crystal's birthday today. 21st. A good day for all, hopefully...

I only slept 6 hours.
...showing Ryan how to bates stamp documents. And I have a headache. Or head soreness.
Music: Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life; Taking Back Sunday - You Know How I Do
I just don't get my coworkers' humor.
Lunch: Mrs. Winston's Green Grocery. I made my own sandwich! Vegan (well not the turkey breast or mayo), organic, delicious chipotle spread! $4.05 (they weigh it).
I don't want to spend my career citing prior precedent. I want to set new precedents. I.e. do my own thing!
Law school makes you a bad writer. - one of my lawyer colleagues
Might apply to be a part-time tour guide! :)

Well-Rested. Sort of. Drank tea and had a banana this morning. Commute - arrived at 9:05.

Mike's back in the office from his trip to Bora Bora.
I dreamt that some friends were visiting me at work, and we were late because we had to walk a block or two over to Deloitte's westwood office (and Westwood included this elevated wide empty walkway like a museum). There was no parking. [for once I remember my dream!]
...paying down my car loan. Ugh!
Lunch: Panda Express leftovers.
Career: Finance. I should go for wealth management. Eventually.
Registering for the Foreign Service Officer Test today! October 2! I'm OFFICIALLY REGISTERD. OH CRAP.
I have the unique lack of an ego and the ability to put others' priorities ahead of my own. I think that's a good compliment.
I told Lionel about CouchSurfing. He doesn't get it. I feel that a lot of my coworkers don't get a lot of things.
Joined Reddit. Digg sucks now that they've remodeled the site.
First: Watching an NC-17 rated movie.

Friday: CS club night in Hollywood. I went and then left. It felt awkward. I then drove home.

I've lost weight. Yay.

Saturday: The plan was to get new cell phones. But that didn't happen. The weather was cloudy and cool most of the day. Not typical late August weather in LA.
I got back into playing Civ III. Old school, but addicting.

Sunday
: Church. Glendale Galleria. Verdugo Bar! (Played Uno and Jenga) Then Milk. Sugar overload.

Back at home, caught the latest Entourage (Vince and Sasha Grey, Turtle and Mark Cuban, and Drama finally going for Johnny's Bananas).
